Well anybody who knows me, knows what I think about Mr. Cantona. He epitomises the spirit of Manchester United. Not only does he press all the right spots for me (it's a bit of a girlie thing)! but he, in my opinion, was the most influential player ever to grace The Theatre of Dreams. Is it just co-incidence that when he arrived we started to achieve what Manchester United should have achieved a long time ago? I don't think so... Before he arrived we hadn't won the League since 1967/8, just look at what we/he achieved since his arrival.
Premier League for United: 1993, 1994, 1996, 1997.
FA Cup for United: 1994, 1996.
PFA Player of the Year: 1994.
Footballer of the Year: 1996.
OK we won the F.A. Cup and The Cup Winners Cup from 1968
through to 1991, but at the risk of repeating myself it's from his arrival that
things started to turn around.
How many players do you know that the fan's still sing his name after having left the club for almost three years. That in itself tells its own story.
