So it was celebration time at Old Trafford.  Having won  the league two weeks ago, United finally got their hands on the trophy for the sixth time in eight years.  The final home game against Tottenham (the same fixture as last season when we beat them 2 - 1) and beat them 3 - 1.  It could have been more but the boys seemed to take the foot off the pedal and enjoy the moment.  Mr. Cantona flew in from France to witness the Premiership's highest ever crowd and revel in United's glory.  At the end of the match the player's and their kids came on and did a lap of honor, a nice touch I thought, so 61,629 saw Brooklyn Beckham.  I thought he was a little cuty.  I pick him out from the other kids simply because of the publicity surrounding the Beckhams.  Alex Ferguson then made a three or four minute speech which rounded off the day completely.  The three goals scored came from Solskjaer, Beckham and Sheringham (a nice final touch to shut the Tottenham fans up!)

Now on to the three that are battling it out for the Champions League.  Arsenal beat Chelsea 2 - 1 to concrete their position in the Champions League next season thanks to two goals from Henry.  Liverpool could only manage a 0 - 0 draw against Southampton so it's up to Leeds today to get a result against Everton, however it was a 1 - 1 draw.  So it's going to go to the final match of the season to see who gets third place and earns themselves a place in the Champions League.  Interesting!

Oh - incidentally Manchester City have somehow (God knows how) found themselves in the Premier League next season!  Oh well, six points for us next season!!!!!!

Sheff. Weds. and  Bradford both lost and Wimbledon managed to get themselves a 2 - 2 draw so it still rides on next weeks results as to who goes down.
