Man. Utd. versus Sunderland.  As I wasn't at this match, I have to go off what I've been told, seen on T.V. and what I've read.  By all accounts it was easy, as echoed by 61,612 fans "Oh this is so effing easy".  United didn't put out what is regarded as their "first team", however the line-up is still formidable.  Sheringham and Solskjaer for Cole and Yorke, Fortune for Giggs, P. Neville for Beckham.  Ole entertained us with two great goals and nearly had a third (should that have gone in would have been in contention for goal of the season) but for some good goal keeping.  Nicky Butt gave us a rare sight in scoring a good goal by his standards and Henning Berg was also in on the act.  United obviously had one eye on Wednesdays' match against Real Madrid thus resting these players, but one hour before kick-off when I heard the team, I thought "I hope this doesn't all go pear shaped" because when all's said and done 'it's not over 'til the fat lady sings'.  However,  Fergie knows whats he's doing, which is why he's the Manager of Manchester United and I'm a Computer Operator!  Ferguson changed Bosnich for Raimond at half time (what's all that about?) and Scholes for Beckham with about 20 minutes left.  Beckham had an instant impact on the game contributing to Nicky Butts goal.  The result, 4 - 0.

Leeds versus Arsenal played today (Sunday), I think the outcome was fairly predictable.  Arsenal won 4 - 0.  I was given some statistics by my brother which read:- in a kind of a league table of the top five teams when played against each other, Liverpool had 17 points, United had 16 points and Leeds had 3 points.  When given that information I should have gone to the Bookies and put £10 on Arsenal to win!!  Leeds have dropped to fourth place and Arsenal have gone up to third.

The scousers were also in action today playing away to Wimbledon.  A definate three points if ever there were.  Since Joe Kinear's departure from Wimbledon, the once fighting spirit of Wimbledon is no longer.  I think the scousers have secured a place in the Champions League next year.  Emile Heskey got both goals.  (Check out my previous notes on Heskey, at the risk of repetition, that's why I'm an Operator!)  The result, 2 - 1 for Liverpool.

As it stands:-    United played 33, points 76

                         Liverpool played 33, points 65

Arsenal played 32, points 60 (Arsenal ahead on goal difference)

                         Leeds played 33, points 60

                         Chelsea played 33, points 58
