Wednesday 15/03/00 we beat Fiorentina convincingly 3 - 1.  In my opinion it was Uniteds best performance of the season.  Ryan Giggs was on fire, Andy Cole played fantastically and Roy Keane, well, what can I say, superb.  We are top of the group but we need at least a draw at Valencia to confirm that place so we don't meet Chelsea, 'cos let's face it, should Chelsea get through to the quarter finals and we drew them, would it be like a Champions League tie?  Nah...  The sooner Chelsea go out the better - let the real competition begin!!!

Arsenal won the first round of the UEFA cup 2 - 0 against Werder Breman so one can only expect them to go through to the Semi-final.

Leeds won 3 - 0 against Sparta Prague and again would expect them to go through to the Semi-final.

Now to the weekends League football, United played Leicester away and won 2 - 0.  On paper this should be an easy fixture but things aren't always as they seem.  Leicester aren't mugs and it took David Beckham to break the deadlock.  It wasn't perhaps the best free kick in the world but it ended up in the back of the net.  Mr. Beckham was also sporting a new haircut, or rather a £300 hair con!!!  Then steps up Dwight Yorke, his fifth goal in four games after a drought of, I don't know but a few matches!  The jobs a goodun.

Today Leeds won 4 - 1 against Wimbledon.  I think this result was a foregone conclusion so they remain four points behind us.  At the risk of libel 'Lee Bowyer', Your Going Down With the Woodgate!!!!

Should I bother reporting about Arsenal?  Go on then although they are out of the frame, they won 2 - 1 against Tottenham, it is still touch and go whether they will get a place in the Champions League.  I am repeating myself, but what has gone wrong?  Do I care?!

This is the first time I have bothered mentioning Liverpool, they are third in the League, doing reasonably well by their recent standards, but still not consistent enough to bother United.
